I have included a letter from Max Kushnir in our blog just to help folks see what a 'day in the life' of these dear saints in Ukraine looks like! Life has changed dramatically with on-going air raid alerts, Marshall law at least until the 23rd of August, refugees, shortages, the loss of jobs etc... But, people still find a way to carry on life with trips to the park with their kids, dinners with family and friends, Church and even a sweet fishing trip in the midst of the chaos! Still, nobody forgets there is War and they are fighting for their Country's life! And with great gratitude, they never stop asking for our prayers...
Shalom dear Brother, First of all, I would like to thank You for Your prayers for us!!! By GOD'S GRACE, we're doing well and better than many brothers and sisters in central and eastern Ukraine. We pray that GOD would save them for HIS GLORY and help them with all their needs. We're getting more air raid alerts than before, but GOD IS GOOD! Even though it's getting harder to explain my kids, why Russians fire so many bombs at our cities. The level of hatred toward Russians is growing pretty fast in Ukraine and we were officially told that Nastya won't be able to get a Ukrainian passport or even prolonge her residency permit. Our friends and neighbors know that she's an amazing person...but other people just don't want to hear that there could be good Russians. Our lawyer was told at the emigration department, that Nastya would be deported if she keeps trying to get a Ukrainian passport, so we might have to move to another country in order to get another passport. But those are definitely small troubles comparing to what our fellow Christians are going through. GOD still allows us to take care of the refugees and helping at the clinic and Church. Today, we even had a chance to go out together with Nastya. She said she would like to go fishing with me, but she decided to take romantic touch with her(laugh) Thank You for Your live and prayers Brother! We feel that and need them!!! Please, convey our greetings to Sue, family and Church! May the LORD surround You with HIS Love and Mercy In GOD'S HANDS, max
Max and Nastya, I remember you with such tenderness!! You are definitely in my prayers. Our Father God is sovereign and faithful and I commend you for trusting that and for your great compassion for those who need help. May He open doors no man can close and close doors no man can open. Much love to you and your little ones. Betty May none of us grow weary in well-doing.
Thanks Max for the sweet letter. I remember both of you with such fondness. You have such sweet children. It makes me happy you could go fishing. A good break and to have fun. My trip to Ukraine will be a life long memory. Praying for passport issue and God will grant favor for this. And put you in a safe place. Love, Marilyn
Despite the devastating realities of war and life in many ways, Judy Davies and Max remind me that “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Thanks be to God.
