It was exciting to see how our Amazing God worked out the opportunity to have our dear brother and leader from Kenya, Enos Mutokah, with us in Seattle for 3 weeks! We have been serving God together since 2008! Enos wanted to extend his gratitude and give thanks for the way so many of you took time to be with him, help him, encourage him personally and in the work, and send him home with an abundance of blessings!! I am attaching his letter below:
My trip was a success story from the support I received with the air ticket, the airport pick up by you even after such a long flight delay and the wonderful stay at your house. Thank you so much for being such loving hosts led by Sue. I really enjoyed it.
My overall goal was to reconnect with our wonderful friends at church and California, and I thank God that all these went well. It was great worshipping together at church, interacting with the dear friends, and the church leadership. The positive response I received at church and the many prayers that our friends offered and continue offering for us shows that this is the work of God, and indeed, he will bring it to fruition. It's these prayers that sustain us. When we feel low and distraught, we are always assured that there are brothers and sisters somewhere who have the best interest of us.
My trip to California was also exemplary. I had the opportunity to reconnect with Byron and many other friends on that side. Even though the objective did not materialize, there's a renewed hope that something is happening there, and with time, we may see the fruits.
Thank you so much for taking your time off writing your book and always being there to take me to the various meetings - some planned and others unplanned, but you always did it with kindness.
Thanks to Barb for her wonderful spirit and kindness and support, she accorded me throughout my stay by taking me to places even as far as Yakima at the orchards to pick apples and shopping for the kids. Together with Steve, they are great individuals ready to see that our mission to support the kids progresses.
A big thank you to Pastor Dave, too, for having taken his time to have meetings with me as we plan for the future of the schools. Thank you so much for your commitment to seeing the dream continue being alive.
Thanks to Carlos and Rachel for hosting us to such a big and wonderful dinner just on the eve of Rachel's delivery. What a woman of strength and faith! Congratulations to their bundle of joy.
Appreciation to Max and his family for hosting me too for the dinner, Kristie and her wonderful husband for the warm welcome to the lunch at their house, Marilyn's invite to the hymn worship and dinner and the many great deeds from each and every one that I interacted with during my stay. I am indebted to all of you, and my prayer is that God will bless each one of you in your own special way. He is a rewarding God and knows us in and out. May he minister to each one of you as you did for me and the ministry.
I got home safe and sound and found everyone doing well. I was in the village at Bukura school and the farm from Friday last week, and all are doing well, too. Mom sent her greetings to you all. God bless you all as I look forward to seeing you soon again either here or back in Seattle. Asante! (Thank you!)
Lord God, please provide the resources and relationships needed by Enos and the schools. The children are precious. They and the teachers need our support.
