Thank you dear brothers and sisters for your love and prayers for our precious friends in Africa. Your practical faith has provided tens of 1000's of meals for kids and parents! Matthew 25:40!
Our dear brother in Kenya, Enos Mutokah, is now recovering from malaria. It has been a difficult year for him, but, as we know, anyone who puts his life on the line for Jesus will face suffering. I Tim. 3:12 / John 16:33 Our church, by God's grace, was able to help care for his medical needs but Enos needs our spiritual covering as well.
I also received a message from our dear sister Konjit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She has been with us at Salt and Light. You might remember she gave up a secure position with the Justice Dept. to live in a house for street girls where they lead many of them to Jesus and gave them a chance for an education and career training.
Two years ago, Ethiopia voted in a wonderful, godly leader, Abiy Ahmed as Prime Minister of the Country. God has used him to bring in reconciliation, peace and a booming economy. After only a year and a half in office, the change was so dramatic within Ethiopia and its neighbors that Prime Minister Ahmed was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
But Satan never rests. (Rev. 12:12) Just recently, the largest ethnic group has decided to revolt. Konjit is asking for our prayers for God to bring peace in what amounts to "civil war". Scripture reminds us that what happens to one part of the Body has an impact on all of us! (I Cor. 12:26)
Thank you again for your vital partnership in God's Kingdom work all over the world!
