God's blessings dear followers of Jesus and lovers of His beautiful children all over the World! Your love and support in Christ is changing the lives of thousands!
Last July our leader in Kenya, Enos Mutokah, asked if we could continue our Christmas 'thank you' celebration for the 100's of volunteer workers who help us feed the kids in Bukura, Western Kenya. With our involvement in Countries who are involved with Wars in Ukraine, Israel and Ethiopia, I told him we are stretched to the limit!
But we know that God is never broke and we thought maybe in His great mercy He would find a way for us to recognize and give a tasty meal and a sodapop (a rare gift) to the ones who do all the work so that our kids can eat!
The parents and staff kept asking if it was possible to have the celebration again this year- and I continued receiving requests for the money to make it possible, still not hearing any clarity from the Lord about what He wanted to do!?
At the 11th hour $2,000 became available and God gave the exciting command to move ahead. It is hard for those of us with plenty of food and resource to imagine what this party means to everybody involved! But it was a great success and hungry neighbors were also permitted to attend which brought great joy and unity to the whole community!! Below is a report from Enos:
We started our celebrations on the 27th with a soccer tournament that helps the youth in the community to find something worthwhile and fulfilling to engage in during the long school holidays. This helps the youth to showcase their talent as we try to identify, develop, and nurture talents in sports. By this tournament, youths are kept away from vices such as drug abuse, petty theft, and other illegal activities that can land them in the hands of the law.
We had over 2,000 guests and fans attending to witness the finals.
On the 28th, we had a celebration for Bukura Primary parents and teachers celebrating 7 years of God's faithfulness in the provision of school lunches for kids. This was also a time to appreciate parents, teachers, and other support staff in their unwavering support towards the work involved in the preparation of the lunches.
We had planned for 500 people, but over 900 showed up. We served white rice, spiced rice, beef stew, bean stew, cabbage, chapati, soda, and water.
We thank God that a miracle happened that the food which was meant for 500 people was enough for the over 900 people that came.
We only had to add soda and water.
Thank you so much for your continued support, and everyone requested that we continue doing this every 28th of December. God bless you all for your prayers, encouragement, and walking with us in this journey of serving the community.
Thanks be to God for making this available to them!
