Dear brothers and sisters,

Our dear friend Israel Pochtar, who lives near the border with Gaza, in Ashdod, just sent out an update on the work they are doing with those in need!  I have seen this ministry first hand and it is amazing!

The War with Hamas has been horrific for both Israelis and Palestinians!  There is great need for just basic provisions of every kind! There are immigrants coming into Israel from around the World but those  from the former Soviet Union are often the most needy because many are forced to leave desperate situations and arriving with little or nothing!

Finances are always helpful but this request is for Prayer! Prayer for God's intervention in this terrible War, for those who are in need and especially immigrants who are trying to navigate a new language, find work, a place to live and schooling for their children.

Israel is the senior pastor of Beit Hallel, an amazing Spirit-filled Messianic Church, in Ashdod! They are not only providing for the humanitarian needs but sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with great effect!  Our dear brother Israel is leading a wonderful group of believers, who also need our prayers for strength, wisdom and encouragement!

Those of you who have traveled to Israel with me have met David Ratner's parents, Haim and Miriam. They are great friends and gracious hosts whenever we are there! David is thought to be the very first Israeli soldier killed in the Hamas massacre on Oct. 7th. His parents continue to bear witness to the faithfulness and love of God even as their own hearts are still bearing the grief...

Beit Hallel Update: Critical Prayer NeedsDid you know that prayer is mentioned over 650 times in the Bible? But do you know why our prayers are so important? Simply put, the power of prayer is the power of God. Prayer places us in contact with Almighty God, who desires to hear and fulfill our needs. The importance of your prayers for our ministry cannot be understated. We know that when we join together in prayer, the Lord is faithful to hear and respond. We are only effective because of the support and prayers from people like you who see the importance of what we do in Israel. Will you take a few minutes each day to pray over these specific areas of need? Please pray for us this week as we will be distributing heaters and blankets to new Jewish immigrant families, where we will also tell them about the love and support of Christians from around the world! Please pray for our massive food distribution next week, where hundreds of families in need will come to our humanitarian center to receive aid. Please also pray as we aid Ethiopian Jewish communities this week, specifically those who were evacuated from the areas surrounding the Gaza Strip. We will be helping a group of 240 people with grocery vouchers and encouraging them! Please pray for the more than 150 Israelis who heard our outreach worker Haim Ratner’s testimony about faith in Yeshua at his son David’s memorial. Please pray for Shalom for the nation of Israel and for God’s solution to the fighting in the north of Israel against Hezbollah. More than 100,000 Israelis have already been evacuated because of Hezbollah’s attacks on the northern border. We are beyond grateful for your continuous support, generosity, and powerful intercession prayers. You are Israel’s warriors and advocates in the nations. Thank you for making our cries and voices heard by standing with us as partners of prayer.“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for,it will be done for them by my Father inheaven.” Matt. 18:19

"the power of prayer is the power of God." How succinct..
So thankful God has protected our friends in Ashdod. I clearly remember sitting in Pastor Israel's church in 2006 in wonderment and admiration of those believers living God's word.

[Lord God, please shower Israel, Gaza, and Haim and Miriam Ratner with your peace. Please bring the wars in the world to an end and help us rebuild. Help us to love each other instead of hate.]

Dear Lord, please bring your peace to our dear friends in Israel. Let your truth be known so that all would come to your feet Jesus in worship and receive your unfathomable love, comfort and mercy.
