Finishing the day in Kharkiv...
It was an interesting day- I enjoyed time at the church and the subway was really great! They have been very selective about people going down there and no pictures! But today they welcomed us right in and everybody was great about us being there pictures and all- I think we can provide some good help, by God's grace! While I was preaching today a bomb hit not too far away and several fell all at once while I was writing to you and sending pictures today...so far Rolfe and I have God's great peace, and it has helped others around us to have peace! The people say every day, we have been nervous and at times even afraid but with your coming it seems like everything is going to be OK and we have God's peace! They say if you are coming from so far away and not worried, 'it helps us feel God's encouragement and comfort!' This is amazing to me but it is just what the Spirit told me His reason was, when He sent us! Tomorrow we are supposed to be with pastor Dema Goncharov all day! He and his wife Irina are always very kind and the church members, young people and up have become great friends! If you remember, they sent a picture when the War first started, with a bomb that exploded just outside their church but only windows were broken! (See picture above)
I mentioned when I was in Lviv that we had dinner with Roman Bokoch and the doctors. They started talking and Roman told them about specific medicines they needed in Eastern Ukraine, where most of the fighting is. I just received pictures this afternoon of boxes and boxes of special medicines our doctors were able to provide for Roman's ministry in the East and it is all for free! It is so fun to see these connections bearing fruit that, in this case, is literally saving lives! The lights are all off now because it is after 8pm and I just received a gov. air raid alert...the weariness for people comes from being on edge day after day for two months- but just since we have been here we are seeing God renew strength and trust in His perfect love and faithfulness! People say they have never had to face this kind of challenge before and they have found that most of their priorities have changed! It is interesting how the furnace of affiction is able to separate the dross from what is most precious in our lives!
We are still trying to make a decision about Dnepro right now- without clarity we will not go. Again, we just want to do what God has prepared for us to do...

It feels so good to hear of some hope and peace your friends get from your visit. These children of God have experienced day-after-day tragedies and siren-reminders for so long. I’m praying for your continued safety, an end of the war by noon, and knowing God’s plan for visiting friends in Dnepro. Also for the many discomforts you have not mentioned.

Jerry and Rolfe. It is so good to hear how our Lord is using you to bring His peace and encouragement. We all continue to pray that He will lead you to the places of most need. God bless you both and give you everything you need to show His faithfulness.

Charity just came for a quick visit last week. As she was putting her insulin in my fridge a quick image of what is happening in Ukraine (and probably Russia, as well) for people who depend on medicine just to live crossed my mind. I thought "what would happen to my daughter if she were unable to get insulin"? The answer: she would die. My prayers changed with that thought. Thank you for reporting that medicines are getting through. It eases my heart to know that. I am so glad you are there to calm the storm, I am filled with so much gratitude that I could be a small part of God's plan for you and Rolfe. Take care. anita
