Heading home through Germany- The picture in this blog entry is of Dr. Lev and Taras Kushnir (Max's brother) and his boys, Aaron and Paul who met us at the train station for our two day stay in Duren. A major reason for our time in Germany was to lay hands on and pray for a dear friend whose cancer had metastasized throughout her body. Today we just received a voicemail that brought us joyful tears and appears to be the beginning of another miraculous story! All to the glory of Jesus!!

After we finished our 4000 km+ journey through Ukraine together with Dr. Lev and Rolfe Carawan, we prayed for each other's safe return home and next steps as we seek to follow Jesus' plan for our days!

Much of the theme throughout our travels was preaching God's love and forgiveness which is far from an easy task but the difference between life and death in our faith - Matthew 6:14,15.

Also, because the War in Ukraine has produced so many hardships, there is often great need everywhere we went! So our gracious Lord instructed us to share what we have been learning about His very practical and abundant provision for Every need whenever we seek Him and turn to our Loving God first for those needs as we put our trust in Him! Romans 10:11/ Phil. 4:19

Dr. Lev did a great job translating for both Rolfe and I, but it was a special thrill to hear that he also was preaching Christ's message about love/ forgiveness and trust for Every need after we parted!  The brother Lev was talking to in his letter is a good friend of ours and a pastor, but his heart has become very bitter towards the Russians- the majority of whom, I am convinced, hate this War as much as we do!!

Dear brother Jerry,

Thank God you're all right. Our Lord has a plan for everything, and perhaps you should have spent time in Iceland.

Please write how you will fly home to your loved ones.

Today I spent a blessed time with Pastor Volodymyr. I just listened to him, he shared with me all day and for my part I encouraged and supported him as much as possible. I shared with him about the forgiveness and love of our friends and enemies. And when we started talking about finances, I said that to the Lord belongs is not only tithe, but everything, and gave an example of a story about a merchant and a seller of pearls. We had a good walk around Warsaw and then I invited him to an Israeli restaurant for lunch, ordered hummus and schwarma, and, of course, ice cream. I invited Volodymyr to stay with me in the hotel room and in the morning Volodymyr will go to Poznan, and I will flight to Munich. Volodymyr said that for him this day was a break from his routine.  I am grateful to God and to you that I can encourage and share love with others.

In God’s love,

Lev
