Shalom dear brothers and sisters - 

Many of you have met Pastor Israel Pochtar and his family from our trips to Israel or when they have visited us at Salt and Light! They are not only wonderful partners in the work of Christ but some of our dearest friends in the world. Their oldest son, Sason has grown into an amazing man of God, husband, father and leader in the church! Below is his last update on ministry in Israel during these challenging times of Covid... 

Shalom dear pastor Jeri!   Hope you are doing well,how is the church doing with all of what’s going on right now? Please let me know how I can pray for you. I would like to update you with what happened last month in the ministry,and church life.   Blessings, Sason Pochtar       

Church service at the forest-  As you all know we are being in the middle of the second wave of the corona, One of the restrictions that is affecting us already more than eight months it’s that we cannot gather together as a church, but even though in the length we see more and more different religions people that even with the restrictions are gathering and doing services and praying and no one is stopping them, we are keeping with the law but we will see that there is many things that are not correct with the decisions, A lot of chaos and confusion, we decided to be creative, we officially gathered in the mountains of Jerusalem, every team where is home group, like that we came to one place more than 200 people, and after 8 months  we finally had service. Of course not everyone could come but happiness happiness and joy of the fellowship, it was incredible night a lot of tears and joy and hunger the word of God.  Me personally I missed it so much to be together with all my brothers and sister in Yeshoa, I heard a lot of testimonies how Garbino touching people during this not easy time and how is changing the hearts of people. Please continue to pray for us that the church will stand strong with everything that is coming!!      

Preaching the word of God-   Mean another others leader been going all over the city, giving food bags, furniture‘s, medical equipment, I’m going from house to house and sharing the good news of God, One of the days when we were about to go to a family and give them food bag, in the traffic light that we stood up with the car, A woman came to me in asking for some charity, I told that I don’t have any money, but I have food bag that I can give her, so I pull up the car, I went out and been talking to her about the love of God in about the Messiah Yeshoa, everything went really good she was about to take the food bag, suddenly when were you I was saying that we are messianic Jewish, A woman came from nowhere and start to scream and shout, do not dare to take anything from them, she start to heal and asking help from people around, to stop us I’ve been shouting that you were Christians that we hate you, and that she wish us to die, we mediately felt the spirit behind her, start to pray we gave the food bag to the lady that been needy, and we left and blessed here and the other woman that was screaming on us, this is sometimes the things we’re handling when we are going in preaching the word of God because their enemy I don’t like it.  And of course I continue to go from house to house supplying everything they need and sharing the good news  of Yashua!    *(With the situation I had no way to take picture)   Pray for the political situation in Israel-  Since the corona we are facing with a huge movement of disagreement in the land from the government, many people are unemployed because all of the lockdowns and many businesses are shutting off, every week and every few days we have huge demonstrations all over the length and thousands are showering does the Prime Minister need to go home, we never had such of the disagreement , when I was in Jerusalem just a few days ago I have face one of these demonstrations, and it’s really sad to see that and it feels that it’s going out of control, but we have the authority to stand up and pray for the spirits behind all this mess.
