It is difficult to understand what men and women feel who have gone through the horrors of War! Often we see things that people were never meant to experience and then the overwhelming challenge of trying to re-enter life as we knew it before.
One of my dearest friends has recently written a very raw account of this heartbreaking struggle as he returns to civilian life after fighting with the Israeli army in Gaza.
Many of you know his father, Israel Pochtar, a dear brother and the pastor of a large Messianic Church in Ashdod, Israel. Sason Pochtar and I have been walking together in faith since was 12 years old. Now he is also a pastor, teacher, husband and father of three! Just yesterday, March 7th, I received an email from Sason that he will be coming to Seattle this next week...
Oh God, we pray for peace and mercy...whom do we have to turn to but you...?!

Shalom dear Jerry!

Thank You for the prayers, I’m out of the army, It’s been really long season, And really hard one, I feel like it’s the most difficult experience I had so far…

But Your prayers did a lot!

Time After time I felt the hand of God upon me, In many crucial moments, he was with me, Thank you for all the support and to read your letters were really amazing, Love you so much. Miss you a lot, And I hope I can see you soon as possible, I’m going through process after the war Many things changed in me, A lot of challenges, Building again, my relationship with the family and the church, But God is with me!

So Even that I’m out I still need your prayers, It’s really hard to come back to normal life after such Period of time.

Blessings,
Sason Pochtar .
