Dr. Lev in the Capitol City of Kiev Ukraine has been a great friend and faithful contributor to our blog at JCSL since the War began!  We have been able to get $8,000 to the medical team there, which they have used to great avail!  By God's grace we will be able to continue our support when I arrive in Kiev later this month!

Shalom, dear brother Jerry,

I hope that you are well and the latest news hasn’t severely influenced you. The entire world now speaks about the Russian “liberation“ of the Kyiv region. The Northern villages nearest to Kyiv became the approach Russian troops used to retreat. They killed each man aged 18-60 and more than 400 children and women...

Everyone sends blood-chilling photos of the war consequences in Bucha and Irpin. And right now, even with regret, I can’t describe what I’ve seen in them. Shortly speaking, there are no buildings and no citizens left... There are so many victims that people have no time to mourn them. And no one knows what’ll happen next.

But it’s always necessary to remember that we are doctors, and we live and work by the grace of the Lord, and our primary aim is to help anyone, regardless of who requires our support. Here you can see the photos of those saved with Maksym’s help, thanks to his excellent skills in surgery and his unconditional readiness to save lives. You can see the injuries seemed untreated before, but with God's blessing and His work through Maksym’s, the patients acquired a high chance to come back to normal life and get a chance to survive.

Even though we determine ourselves as intelligent and eloquent people we can't find the words to describe the situation that is happening now in Uranian cities and villages. Our hearts are broken, and our souls are devastated. The whole world emphasizes our grief, but this is nothing without the actions that can be taken.

Overall, speaking about the situation, I must say that helping each other in such a condition is incomparable to anything. Even small thing anybody makes today is a huge help because it gives new hope to live and lead yourself to peace and safeness. With your help, at the behest of our Lord, you blessed people with food, hygiene products, essentials, vital medicines, and expensive medical devices that we now use to save the lives of hundreds of people. Our hearts appreciate everything we get from you by the command of God, and considering it is a great blessing! Thank you, your family, and friends, for all. We are praying for all of you.

In God’s love,  Lev

This is the latest letter that we have received from Gennadii, the senior pastor in the Kharkiv region which has been constantly in the news because of the unrelenting bombing attacks from the Russian military.  We were able to get $10,000 into the city for emergency humanitarian aid through a network of Jesus' friends, here and in Ukraine!

Shalom, dear Jerry!

I was glad again when I received your letter. Today is the sixth military Sunday. More and more people are coming to worship. Today we had the Lord's Supper. More than 300 people attended the service. Among them were about 30 unbelievers, there were also about 20 children. When I called people to repentance at the end of the service, 2 people came out to pray. One of them came out a girl, the daughter of our regent. Another came out an elderly woman who has been living in the prayer house since the beginning of the war. Both of these women prayed the prayer of repentance. Glory to our Lord!

Thank you for a new gift for our ministry to people affected by the war. Today, after the service, one of the members of our church gave me 10 thousand dollars from Roman and his father Nikolai. Thank you for your concern and participation in our needs. I will give half of these funds to Dima Goncharov.

Lena and I continue to pray for your arrival in Ukraine, so that it will be safe and fruitful. In the love of Jesus, Gennadii

I am humbled how brave and courageous Dr. Lev and his brother are. By God's grace to experience such horrible tragedies. They are right in the midst of it. It is hard to imagine so bad to see on the news. The pastor in Kharvi is having a revival. So amazing because you hear that city is bombed a lot. Praying for them. In his love. May l be faithful in my incession for all
them. Marilyn

The news this morning is horrific in regards to the war crimes being committed not only against the men but especially against the women and children. One report I couldn't even read due to it's description of one the most depraved crimes one human can do to another. My heart goes out to the millions of Ukrainians suffering through this and at the same time it soars with pride and inspiration when I read the stories of redemption, faith, grace, courage and most importantly, the steadfast love the victims demonstrate for our Lord and Savior. My feelings of awe can not be described. I don't know much but I do know one thing: Jesus loves you and me. May His eternal peace and grace be showered on all of Ukrian and us. With much love - anita
