Update from Novomoscosk in Eastern Ukraine: Our dear brother, pastor Stepan Bokoch, the regional pastor in the central part of Eastern Ukraine continues to send us updates on the battle that is still raging not far from their own homes. Their ministries need to continually adjust to the most immediate needs of the people they serve as they creatively engage in ways to provide for even the most basic needs of civilian victims that are suffering from the Russian Army's attempt to destroy Ukraine's infrastructure. It is an uphill battle because more and more of the daily targets are not military assets but residential areas and gathering places for non-combatants!
It has been amazing as I have been with these friends three times since the invasion in Feb. 2022, how courageous and disciplined they are to stay focused on daily life issues and ways to serve one another in the midst of horrific circumstances! I will miss being with them for this upcoming pastoral conference but much of my heart has never left... I am attaching Stepan's latest communication below - and will continue to update the blog in the coming days with news from all of our partners around the world.
Jeri! Good afternoon, peace to you and your home. Something broke up between us and you, and I think it's my fault. But I want to say that we miss you very much. We are very busy in various services. Due to the fact that they blew up the Kakhovskaya HPS Nikopol and the entire coast of the Kakhov reservoir remained without water. We from Znamenovka carried and carry 12 tons of water each, and we also use other sources to deliver drinking water. This is a new service that He gave us.
From August 24 to 26, a Pastoral retreat, including their wives, will be held here. We would be very happy to have you with your wife. I understand that there is little time, but if God sees the tickets, we would be happy. I am not asking for finances, because God has already taken care of it.
