Most of you who have followed the blog have become familiar with our dear brother, Pastor Gennadii Pilipenko in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He and his wife Olena, are deeply in love with Jesus and tremendous leaders throughout the Kharkiv region...
Shalom, dear Jerry!
I was very happy again when I received your letter. Today is the seventh military Sunday. The Lord sent a peaceful sky over our heads in the morning. More and more people come to worship. Today there were about 350 people at the service, or even more. Many unbelievers came, as well as members of other churches in our city. The constant shelling of the Russian army brings the inhabitants of Kharkov death or injury from shell fragments. Therefore, many people, especially believers, began to feel more dear and dear to each other. People began to hug each other at a meeting and cherish the meeting itself. I think that this is exactly the kind of attitude the Lord wants to see towards each other. After the service, each person was able to receive a set of food, a set of vegetables, sweets, and clothes. All these sets were prepared in advance by a group of volunteers of our church who perform their ministry throughout the week. After the service, we made a celebratory dinner in our apartment. Today our dad Kolya is celebrating his 85th birthday. Dima, Ira with children, as well as Danik came to us. These days he was in Kharkov on ministry issues, and Lilya with the children is still near Lvov. We congratulated dad on his birthday and prayed for a blessing from the Lord for his next days. I express my great gratitude for the means for our service to people. From your last gift, I gave half of the funds to Dima Goncharov. At the moment we have enough funds. The Lord continues to send food aid from churches in Ukraine and Europe. The Lord sends help with funds from you and other brothers and sisters in Ukraine and abroad. I saw again that the church has no boundaries. Praise the Lord for this! So now don't worry about sending us more funds. Lena and I continue to pray for your arrival in Ukraine, so that it will be safe and fruitful. We ask the Lord to bless you with all the resources you need and help you do His will. Kolya and Sveta, Dima and Ira, Danik and our grandchildren convey their heartfelt greetings to you. In the love of Jesus, Gennadii
I agree with Anita’s comments.
And I see Jesus so clearly in you, Pastor Gennadii.
And I am so heartened to hear of your generosity and love reaching unbelievers.
This is truly a rival in your church. I think about your church often. I see this picture of destruction but yet your church is growing. Praise God. You are supporting them with food makes it more special. I can see from the pictures of you and your love and testimony of the Lord. Thanks Gennadii and your wife. Blessings to you. So blessed to have Jerry visit and Rolfe.
In the middle of a bombed out city and devastation everywhere...this man says "So now don't worry about sending us more funds". I broke down...the Holy Spirit literally drips off these people. I am humbled by these people. Thank you Gennadii for reminding me what a child of God looks like in the face of tribulation.
