Purpose of the School of Christ

If you are interested in going deeper and learning more about the School of Christ which Jerry is attending and Juan Carlos is leading with 2 other pastors - Pastor Fernando and Jesus!, I am including a copy of the paper written for the attendees. It has really helped me as I pray for them each day, and so many of you who read this Blog are so faithfully praying - I hope it's helpful and encouraging to you as well!  I will also post some pictures that illustrate some of the described puposes being worked out at the school. .

I love the picture of Jerry having dinner with some of the friends and Juan Carlos tells me that my dear husband already knows the names of all 70 attendees.  

PURPOSE OF THE  24 DAYS AT THE SCHOOL OF CHRIST

In the name of our beloved Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, receive the fraternal greeting of the School of Christ to the Nations ministry.  The PURPOSES of this retreat are: ·  Seek the Lord in PRAYER for more than 80 hours, READING God’s Word, and COMMUNION with God in an uninterrupted way.    

WHAT IS THE MODALITY?   It is the fivefold model:   1. PRAYER - We will be praying for more than three hours a day for 24 days.   2. WORD - (Video teachings) 153 lessons of preaching   3. FASTING - We will be fasting for 7 days, 1 day the first week, 2 days the second, and 3 days the third   4. ISOLATION - You will not be able to go outside the seminary or use any element of distraction.   5. DISCIPLINE - Personal hygiene and the cleaning the space used (Bedrooms, dining room, bathrooms, etc)     

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS?    • A RESTORED VISION FROM GOD   • A RENEWED PASSION FOR THE SOULS   • A RE-ESTABLISHED COMMUNION WITH JESUS   • A RESTITUTED BIBLICAL COMPREHENSION   • A FILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT     

WHAT WILL THE HOURS BE WITHIN THE SCHOOL?   The schedule of each day will be from 5:00 to 21:00, Monday-Friday and Saturdays until noon:   MORNING SCHEDULE   04:50 - Get up   05:00 - 06:45 Morning prayer   7:00 - 7:30 Showers time   7:30 - 8:00 Breakfast   8:00 - 12:00 Lessons   12:00 - 13:00 Lunch   13:00 - 14:00 Break (nap time) AFTERNOON SCHEDULE   14:00 - 18:00 CLASSES   18:00 - 19:00 PRAYER            NIGHT SCHEDULE 19:00 - 19:40 Dinner 19:40 - 20:15 Cleaning 20:15 - 21:00 Showers 21:00 - 22:00 Tasks and exams 22:00 – Lights out     

DATE OF THE INAUGURATION    The entrance to the campus of the school will be by 5:00 p.m on January 16th for:   - Official registration of those who could not fill out completely their files   - Know the camp facilities   - Accommodate them in their respective bedrooms according to established groups   

INAUGURATION   The official inauguration of the School of Christ is on Sunday 16 at 19:00 in the classroom where all the students must be present to deliver their materials, read the regulations, schedules and distribution of groups.   20:00 Word and presentation of the team   21:00 Prayer   21:30 Showers   22:00 Lights out      

CLOSING DATE   The closing date will be on Saturday February 12 at 6:30 p.m. after the graduation ceremony     

WHAT MUST THE PARTICIPANT BRING?   1. Bible   2. 2 x 100-sheet notebooks for notes and 4 pens   3. Blankets, sheets, pillows (optional)   4. Towels and personal hygiene implements     5. Uniform  Formal clothes (sportswear, or casual, tight or transparent clothing are not allowed)   MALE:   - Shoes (not tennis shoes),   - Jeans   - Shirts and tie (the ties are optional)   - Polo shirts   WOMEN:   - Skirt or dress pants (No leggings or jeans)   - Blouses or shirts     Note: The clothes must be for the six days of internship each week, when returning each Sunday, you must bring clean clothes again for the six days in the same way for the four weeks of internship. (if you want to bring an iron that is optional)    Note: (if you are staying at the school’s facility for the weekends you must bring laundry soap)   6. Camera (Optional)   7. Personal medications (If they are with a prescription if you need them)   • If they are under medical treatment, take precautions and notify to the EDCN management in advance.   FORBIDDEN TO BRING: iPod, Tablet, radios, tv (Everything that can cause distraction and entertainment)    The facility offers sheets and a blanket; however, you can bring an extra blanket (or sleeping bag) because it is very cold.  But according to our stay, in Lebrija it is quite mild.    The live-in school is from Monday to Saturday at noon, after lunch we clean up and head out  On Sunday you must rejoin until 7pm at the latest.  Those who wish to stay can stay at the facility for 24 days
