"How can we thank God enough for you and for all the joy we have in Him because of you?!" I Thess. 3:9 We are conscious every day of your prayers, and for the fasting that many of you are doing. They have made an impact on every event, relationship and decision. Thanks be to God!
Max, Sue and I left Chernivtsi last Tuesday, stayed overnight in Kiev and took a five hour train to Kharkiv in Eastern Ukraine. We spent the first night in a rental apartment - most homes here are flats and they are quite small so it is difficult to house more than one guest. The day after our arrival, we drove to the Pastor's Conference site with our dear friends, Gennadii and Lena Pilipenko. One of our favorite things to do at these conferences is to get individual time with pastors and their wives. I love watching Sue interacting with women that look up to her as a beautiful model of the teachings of Christ. I shared for four one hour sessions - Three Impossibilities for the Believer, The Necessity and Power of the Holy Spirit, Hearing God's Voice and Spiritual Warfare. We also met a new brother and sister in Christ from Kiev, who spoke about Family Relationships. We believe that God gave us many powerful breakthroughs while we were at the Conference, things that just a few years ago would have seemed impossible. Our prayer now is that what He began, He will bring to completion for the Glory of His Name. Philippians 1:6. It will be fun to share more when we return home about the specifics.
We returned back to our apartment last night and were up at 6 this morning preparing to speak at an early church service, and are getting ready to meet with the Regional Director's Church Leadership Team tonight. Until Thursday this week, we'll be meeting with families and friends that we've been doing ministry together with for the last 7 years. From there we will be on to a city called Novomoskovsk. We'll keep you updated as we journey.
