This is the introduction week to our interactive study on CS Lewis' book Screwtape Letters. The rest of this class will not be posted since the meat of the discussions will be in small groups and physical attendance is required to participate. We hope this introduction encourages you that although the book can be difficult to understand it is well worth the effort.
As you study each "letter" (Chapter) you will find great benefit by asking yourself the following questions:
1. What is Screwtape trying to accomplish against the believer? What condition is he trying to increase or decrease?
2. How is Screwtape trying to accomplish this? What is he emphasizing and how does this affect his intended goal?
Application questions
1. How have you experienced this in your own life?
2. How can we prepare ourselves to resist this tactic, or how can we eliminate it if we see it already exists?
